The King’s Admissions Office is responsible for undergraduate and postgraduate admissions services at King’s College London. The Admissions Office receives over 120,000 applications each year, striving to process applications efficiently, providing top-notch customer service, from responding to emails and messages, from applying at registration. The Admissions Operations team provides support to these services in a number of areas: qualification search, policy, data analysis and communication sharing.
We are part of the Student and Education Branch, a wide-ranging set of professional services set up to support King students and their education. As leadership, we manage the student lifecycle, from application to graduation and beyond, to ensure a consistent, seamless student experience and efficient administrative processes, working closely with King’s faculties to do so.
About the role
The Admissions Manager (Data Analytics) will be a critical member of the Admissions team, supporting the Admissions Department primarily by assisting with data provision, analysis and reporting to inform effective treatment.
This is an exciting opportunity for candidates who enjoy researching and solving problems, working independently on projects, and interacting regularly with many departments across the university. This is an opportunity to develop skills in data analysis (MS Excel, MS Access, SQL and Visual Basic) and business systems (Office 365, SQL and Oracle databases) to support the solutions.

This position will be offered on a permanent contract.
This is a full-time position, but we welcome applications from candidates looking for a flexible work model during our service hours.
The Admissions team enforces a leave embargo during the August confirmation and clearing period.
- This role will retrieve data from databases such as SITS to run regular statistical reports and management information (MI), provide interpretation of this data, communicate this information to the admissions department and the university, the where appropriate, for example weekly updates and progress reports.
- Acquire knowledge of data analysis (MS Excel, MS Access, SQL and Visual Basic) and business systems (Office 365 databases, SQL and Oracle) to develop and support efficiency building solutions and tools .
- This role will use data retrieval skills to provide research assistance to the work of the Senior Admissions Officer (data analysis), including timely resolution of access to information requests.
- This role will support the production, delivery and maintenance of various interactive tools used for admissions processes such as Occupational Health and Disclosure and Barring (DBS) clearance checks and number processing CAS visa for international students.
- This role will manage staff access to databases and tools relevant to the Admissions Service such as UCAS Weblink, UK ENIC and King’s Admissions Portal, performing regular audits of access rights to these systems.
- Using research skills to keep abreast of issues affecting college admissions and using that knowledge to inform any narrative explaining data trends.

- Effective oral and written communication skills

- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (e.g. understanding of spreadsheets and workbooks, basic addition/averaging formula, array formula, macros, data entry and formatting, sorting and filtering)
Skills & Experience
- Experience in higher education (or similar) environment or working in an admissions-related environment
- Visual Basic awareness
- Familiarity with college admissions systems such as UCAS, understanding of SITS client and system table structures
- Competent Microsoft Word skills (e.g. mail merge, track changes, formatting and editing)
