Big Data Analytics Training Program Begins at SKUAST-J – Jammu Kashmir Latest News | Tourism

The Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-J and others at the inauguration of the training program on Tuesday.

JAMMU, July 26: SKUAST-Jammu’s Statistics and Informatics Division is conducting a week-long training program on big data analysis and research methods, using statistical software starting today. today under the aegis of IDP SKUAST Jammu.
The main motto of this training is to encourage students to understand the basic and latest methodologies of statistics and their analysis through different software.
The chief guest of the inaugural function was Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-Jammu, Prof. JP Sharma who stressed that proper statistical procedure should be followed to draw conclusions for scientific research.
“In the current era, more data will be collected about our daily lives than ever before. Large datasets cannot be easily analyzed by hand; the use of statistical software will make data processing more convenient “, he explained.
Dr. Rajender Parsad, Director of IASRI, New Delhi, who was the guest of honor on the occasion, indicated that more accurate statistical tools are needed to assess impact and challenge future demand in terms of policy and planning at regional and national levels. He also informed about the importance of data analysis in the field of agriculture and highlighted the importance of proper statistical methodology and delivered the special lecture.
The Associate Coordinator, Prof. Vikas Sharma briefed the audience on the IDP and its role in institutional development in terms of NEP 2020.
The organizer of the workshop, Prof. Manish Sharma, Head of the Division, gave a detailed presentation on the importance of the training program.
The function was attended by Professor Pradeep Wali, Director of Research; Pr RK Nanda, director of education; Prof. AK Mondal, Dean of Agriculture; Prof SEH Rizvi, Dean FBSc; Prof R K.Salgotra, Coordinator of the School of Biotechnology; Prof AK Sharma, University Librarian and others.
The proceedings of the function were led by Dr Vivek M Arya and a formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr M Iqbal Jeelani.
