Data Analysis in Performance Audit Course Ends
The Performance Audit Unit (PAW) has been providing training to public sector departments and other Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) for 40 years to improve/develop their human resource capital. A three-day course on Data Analysis in Performance Audit was successfully organized by the Performance Audit Branch, Lahore under the auspices of the Auditor General of Pakistan here on Tuesday.
The course was attended by 25 officers across the country.
The aim of the course was to improve the analytical skills of the participants and to refine their professional knowledge and abilities in the performance audit regime. The course content was concepts and techniques on social benefits and costs, financial and economic analysis.
Over the years, data analysis has not only become an essential part of the audit process for the vast majority of auditing organizations, it has also become an essential tool in performance auditing with many other analytical tools. Detailed advice on the concepts and techniques of cost-benefit analysis, its application to various sectors such as construction, education, health, road transport, rail transport, water supply projects and Telecommunications projects have been well worked out in this short course.
