Strengthening the collection, reporting, analysis and use of data on violence against women

Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI) Forum 2022 – Cancún, Mexico

At the 2022 SVRI Forum, WHO, UN Women and HRP will showcase the powerful potential of data in preventing and responding to violence against women.

The five-year joint WHO-UN Women global program on data and measurement of violence against women has worked to ensure the availability and collection of quality comparable data on different forms of violence against women, to fill national data gaps and respond to global policies. and reporting commitments. Violence against women – in particular domestic violence and sexual violence – is a major public health and clinical problem and a violation of women’s human rights.

Panelists from the World Health Organization, UN Women, data producers and users and the UK Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office will share their views.

Topics include: collection and use of data and estimates on the prevalence of violence against women, including capacity building; administrative data; tools to fill data gaps (for example, on violence against older women or women with disabilities)

Anyone attending the SVRI Forum 2022, register for the in-person event.

Friday, September 22, 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. – Location: Greco
